Reincarnate. Re-roll. Either option will work. Oh, it is not that my build is bad there. It takes 10 more points to recover a trap, vs disabling it. Thus, since the only way I can eliminate traps with DC > 35 is to recover them, I need to boost my disable traps 10 points higher than I would need if commando could simply disarm them. I do have a new additional request. Could Kobold Commandoes also detect traps with DC > 45 or whatever the cut-off is? Yes, I can just keep casting from my 'detect traps' ring or lens, but that is a little annoying and removes me a bit from immersion.

We are not all legendary or paragon, y'know! ;-)
Some of us are just enjoying a slow stroll up the ladder, enjoying being diverted, rather than power-gaming.
So far, the worst chest I encountered was DC 50.

So far, the worst chest I encountered was DC 50. Just thinking out loud, but maybe try splashing a rogue level in a shifter/druid build and then using elf able learner to raise it in legendary levels? I'd think you'd need to wait until your 20s at least so you can raise your skills to a workable "baseline" level (and still use them in pre-LL chests). Don't think you'd make endgame checks, but 110-120 should be in range. You're giving up a level of shifter DC, which would hurt "ability-mage" builds. You're giving up max BAB, but should still hit 100+ for a melee build. You might need a BUR subby like Undying (+3 skill points in LL) to pull it off Again, just a thought - I've never seen or tried anything like this.

Huh, I thought I replied, but I do not see my post. Sorry if this is sitting somewhere else.
Sure, splashing a rogue level would give me disable and detect for high level . . . well, high level for pre-endgame, apparently . . . traps, but I would lose a polymorph level and an attack if I move from 28 shifter/8 druid/4 ranger to 31 shifter/8 druid/1 rogue.
