Hi,
Will characters who's Control Class are Druid or Ranger be able to count the LLs towards their Epic Summons (as long as they have enough Animal Empathy)?
Dave.

Nope. LL do not count toward summon upgrades, secret item requirements, or anything else that requires a certain amount of levels in a class.

I was just wondering if things like this are being considered for future updates. To me, these things go along with being legendary. If you're a L20 ranger, and tack on 20 more control class ranger levels with LLs, then I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to use the ranger secret or L40 ranger epic (or one might say legendary) companion. Of course its understandable why many other level adds don't happen (spell effects, duration, penetration, etc) as they cause difficult balance issues. But I'd like to open up some class level qualifications for review since they are already, by server definition, balanced (I understand why initially they were left out, you ease into something big like this). I.e., the server already has L35 epic summons running around and has seen their effects and they remain, but the server has zero characters with a L55 caster level for spell effects/penetration so its impact would be unbalancing for at least a while. I think secrets and epic summons would be a good first start... Mind you I'm not saying do it, but I'd like Funky and the DM team to consider it. They understand the server balance issues best. Of course I also understand that perhaps only the elite can make it beyond a certain point. However, if that view is taken, then perhaps only characters who qualify for class secrets can take LLs. I.e., its perfectly valid to say that a Ranger who only had 20 class levels, didn't excel enough at ranger to become Legendary, he was just really good . I'm also having trouble thinking its ok for a 14 Sorc, 13 Rogue, 13 AA to become a legendary Sorcerer, doesn't feel right (not that anyone would do that, but there are some effective builds who would be in that boat). Though I also realize its just a method for taking more levels and perhaps we shouldn't read too much into the legendary thing (though its hard not to given what it is). I just think if you let them take LLs at all, then you should consider allowing the levels to count for existing class qualifications for items/summons. Dave.
