chainlink If it is just ESF required, then I will reinc and go that path. I only ever tried this with LSF before. I saw in Starcore's PM post that this looked to be possible. Wasn't even using the exploit properly... Paradoom KC confirmed with me in game that PM CC is required.

It really depends whether you are making a Wizard or a PM, if a Wizard barring schools leads to loss of spell options and for Necro and Illusion you'd be better off making a PM and getting better DC and Spell Penetration. You need to decide, splashing PM on a Wizard CC will give you no benefits and in fact make some stuff worse for you.

@chain Thank you for the feedback, every piece of information improves the build im working on. I wasn't sure how the PM splash would work out, but my thoughts at the time were: -Makes PWK Available -Converts BC to the much higher necro DC -gives +2 ac, to push ac into 130's -gives +1 sp to necro/ill(have dabbler ego for full caster level as well)
Not sure what to splash now, maybe nothing. Pure doesnt really give much bonus either, but would free up my dabbler boot slot gor tia boots.
I will post my intended build to get some additional feedback rather than continue this thread.
Thanks for everyone's help and patience with me.

using abyss boots should be a clear and striking improvement in the case of overall "effectiveness due tankability", or tia boots for pure slots, and you should have little trouble attaining both item and tag. that alone would be a reasonable excuse for going pure.
ranger splash for skill dumps, shield prof (which would free what I assume to be a crappy shieldprof-providing ammy if you haven't read the pandect) and GSF has always been an "interesting" option if you assume to wear a CL ego fulltime and the pal or rog splashes aren't your cup of tea. I won't advertise these further since the assumption would be you've already considered and refused them, but considering a wizard with a 1PM splash as an excuse to use a CL ego, it's an "unorthodox" choice, at best.
I'd give pure a shot (could further look at this as an excuse to hunt down a DC--or better yet, SP--ego to swap for the dabbler's even if you don't believe the boot slot opening up is worth it) if lootmage or pally saves aren't interesting to you and the ranger option doesn't do much for your particular choice of schools/feats (the GSF doesn't always result in an effective net gain, depending on desired build).
