I tried to install ARF2, it asks me administrator to run it, except that when I look my account is administrator because when I go to the accounts under my name there is written: Local account and below it is written: Administrator
Microsoft should put as their motto:
Why make it simple when you can make it complicated Making it complicated is our specialty

I tried to install ARF2, it asks me administrator to run it, except that when I look my account is administrator because when I go to the accounts under my name there is written: Local account and below it is written: Administrator Microsoft should put as their motto: Why make it simple when you can make it complicated Making it complicated is our specialty If your other computer still works, just copy the entire neverwinter nights folder onto a usb stick, you dont even need to have it installed to run it. It will run off a usb stick on your new computer (I've done this while travelling) or you can copy it permanently to the new computer. In fact all you really need are your original nwnplayer.ini, nwncdkey.ini and nwn.ini to make the copy uniquely 'yours'. NWN does not need any registry settings (ie being installed from the disk) to actually run. The copy of the game I use is actually the very original install I had back in 2003 or whatever that I have just copied from computer to computer as I upgraded. If the old computer does not turn on, then as was suggested before - remove the harddrive or ssd from the old computer (while it is turned off) and add it as an extra drive inside the new computer (while it is turned off). Note you can also get a usb adapter for this to turn it in to an external drive if you wished. Then you can just drag and drop the nwn folder from the old drive to the new drive. At this point you can turn everything off again and put the drive back in the old computer, or you can keep it in the new one if you prefer. This eliminates messing around with ARF. For getting nwn to run on the new computer, run it in compatibility mode (XP, service pack 3). Make sure to get the enhanced exe from wiki.hgweb.org/wiki/Installation_GuideRight click on the icon to choose compatibility mode. Another thing - windows may default to putting it in "program files" if you install the game rather than copying it. Best to choose a different location or drive as you will get lots of prompts to run the game each time otherwise. I dont think you strictly need ARF though, I can't remember ever running it. You can upgrade the install to 1.69, then install CEP 2.3c (just that version specifically). You can grab the enhanced exe and voicebinds from the wiki. Still though, easiest thing is to copy your original installation.

To Boroi
Well atm and for some time i dont have access to my old pc
Atm i have installed the nwn game from my original cd of the game, with the 3 cd keys
You say : For getting nwn to run on the new computer, run it in compatibility mode (XP, service pack 3) ..... I dont understand this
You say : Another thing - windows may default to putting it in "program files" ..... you talking about what window can put in program files ? The CEP 2.3c ? If it's the nwn game there i have installed it on the D disk then not on my ssd where my windows is.
As for : You can grab the enhanced exe and voicebinds from the wiki. .... Thanks to point this out i was worry to had to search on the web for thoses
For what i understand with all this trouble it's this was a good thing to put on a usb key a copy of like: nwn.ini, nwnplayer.ini, nwncdkey.ini, CEP 2.3c
Thanks to you bud and all others for trying to help me. It's been so many years since I've had to do this kind of manipulation, not to mention some that I've never done before, in addition to trying to understand this $%$%$?$? windows 10, I must say that it puts my patience to the test especially that on this kind of thing my patience is very limited

Windows 10 is actually pretty good I find. Certainly better than Windows 11. Right click on the icon and choose properties, then go to compatibility tab and set like this. Not strictly required but I find it more stable doing that way. If you installed on the D disk then that is fine. Nothing further to do. Its always good to back up the 3x ini files anyway! Everyone should do this.

What also helps is to install it under a clear path without any special signs, like "C:\nwn\". Avoid paths that contain spaces! You can also try this legacy driver (can be installed parallel to your normal ones, even AMD graphics cards). www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/physx/physx-9-13-0604-legacy-driver/I found the game running smoother with that installed. And no matter what, the game runs under W10. I am using this for many years already.
