Hi all... again.
Today's question I was hoping would be easy to answer (some details on the shifter book, very good idea there by the way!); and that is shifted armor.
What I'm finding is that a large hole is appearing in my listed ac - my main form currently has over 60ac (when buffed and standing), but is getting hit by not-the-one-I'm-attacking mob members with attack rolls of under 40 (rolls under 19 only counted). This ac number (62 to be exact) is based on two things:
1) Character-sheet AC
2) Mob Member I'm attacking's required rolls to hit.
I don't have any investment into tumble at this point, I do know I'm getting +8 from shifted dex which I expect to be losing in the mob - but 20[+]ac I should not be losing, not by a long shot.
I did a bit of shift-testing using the readouts given in-game; it seems deflection and ac armor are both shifting in (currently that means my +5 ring of deflection and +5 armor are _both_ shifting in to get my ac) - the book seems to indicate only highest plus shield (if not monk-based, which I am) will go in with the script modifications put into PoA. All other AC types (natural AC ammy, dodge boots, etc) are not shifting, guess that's as per scripts.
Is it possible that:
1) The ac shifted in is being treated as dodge ac (instead of the normal deflection)? I am then losing a further ~10ac which almost accounts for my lost ac in mobs.
2) Monk AC is being treated differently with the PoA scripts to normal (should be treated as Natural AC, ie not bypassable).
Ok, I know getting a bit longwinded - but, I'm just trying to understand why my fav class is being torn up with far more AC than his party members
Holy cow.. just tried to read that. I hope it makes sense to ye all that may have some input!
