Just want to make sure I'm not missing something here.... As I read the description for the staffmaster, it seems to me the logical build is 15 wiz 25 WM... allows you to access the high-end damage types at 25 WM. Making a character that way, with 15 wiz, you max out at 8th lvl spells. Which is fine, since you get your first lvl 8 spell (blackstaff) at lvl 15. But you don't ever get lvl 9 spells though, right? Just making sure I'm interpreting things right before I go building one. I guess if you wanted lvl 9 spells so you could cast BBOD (the staffmaster's 'specialty' lvl 9 spell, I guess), you'd sacrifice the damage types with your quarterstaff in the end. If anyone can confirm I'm reading this right, would be much appreciated. It seems pretty clear to me, but I've been known to be wrong before. ;D Thanks in advance. (Just had to include this one, for no other reason than it's my favorite.... ) Pondering it some more, I'm not quite sure how LL's would affect things. My understanding of LL's is that they can't be used to qualify for pre-40 requirements. Is staffmaster different, e.g. could you take 19 wiz then 21 wm, then finish off 25 lvls of wm at level 44 and get your top-tier staff damage then? Not sure how it works, since this stuff is all custom-made here. (Amazing stuff by the way!)

LLs cant be used to qualify for a class req, unless explicity stated. RDD is the only class where you can have less than 30 at 40 and still get level 30 benefits, but it explicitly says so. The reqs for staffmaster are very specific, and are covered in the book - it's 15 wiz and weap foc qstaff before 20 iirc. So you could take 19 then 21 and be a staffmaster, but you would forgo pos/neg damages on the staff. Funky
