i got an e-mail about new change on LL now affect caster lvl ...........but there isnt any inform about that in the BB. can some one clarify?

Tenser's Transformation: spell was redone, has completely different effects: no polymorph adds 1d6 temporary hp per casterlevel, plus 12 additional hitpoints for each of those casterlevels above 40, for a maximum of 60d6+240 at casterlevel 60 gives the caster an ab bonus of 1/2 casterlevels, capped at 40 at casterlevel 40 gives the caster the same number of base attacks per round as a pure fighter of their level, and extra attacks at casterlevels 45 and 55 gives the caster bonuses to STR, DEX, and CON equal to +1 per 4 casterlevels, capped at +12 at casterlevel 48 for every 2 casterlevels above casterlevel 20, gives the caster a +1 bonus to natural AC, capped at +20 at casterlevel 60
Undeath to Death: uncapped to 60d4 HD at casterlevel 60

SR scales up at 1 point per level. If I'm reading things correctly, it seems LLs now count for caster level for overcoming SR. If so, then the races who have natural SR should be updated so that their LLs count for their SR (if this hasn't been done already). Dave.

Yup, thats in the works, as well - I'll be doing that when I upgrade monk sr's, since I will be applying them in the same function - along with, potentially, RDD sr's if we go with a new set of class mods for them we're discussing in the dm forum. Yup, thats in the works, as well... Ok. IMO, they should stay consistent with casters. If casters get a Penetrate point for each LL, so should racial SRs. If casters only count 1/2 LLs to Penetrate, then races should only receive 1/2 LLs in SR, etc. Dave.

The diffrence with subraces was that some were too high already in my opinion, but it wasn't an issue since they stopped gaining at level 40. A blanket approach is by far the easiest, but will most likely cause balance problems. Funky

I guess I'm trying to see your point here, mages stopped gaining at 40 too. If you start mages back up, you should start races back up to *keep* the balance. As for too high, I haven't seen play issues with it as it was. - 2 races have a flat 18 (worthless at higher levels).
- 1 race has 0+lvl (equal level caster always wins)
- 4 races have 5+lvl (equal caster wins 75%)
- 1 race has 10+lvl (equal caster wins 50%)
- 1 race has 15+lvl (equal caster wins 25%)
Caster has the vast edge and playing these for a long time hasn't seemed imbalancing IMO. And this isn't even counting penetration which would give casters +30% to all those values with epic (+40% with legendary). IMO, blanket is easiest and *keeps* the balance as is, even if it continues to go to the casters. Dave.
