998hp from Tenser's Transformation which you can cast multiple time per rest and you still want to compare hp? !!!!!!!! Doomsday, you really need to play a caster before you go getting all upset over the changes to their spells. Those hp would last around 5 seconds in the kind of fighting you guys are describing, and they do not come back when you use a heal potion - they were included in the spell only because I wanted to stay somewhat true to the original - on net they are nearly worthless. The spell itself will be of minimal use until the staffmaster class debuts. Lets keep a cool temper, hmm? You both have some valid points, but you both seem to be struggling mightily to ignore those the other one is offering, as well as some of my comments, like when I pointed out that FF hurts casters far more than tanks. Funky \ sorry didnt know that ....... i have two sorc but dont have a wiz so i cant test out all spell...... and i know FF hurts alot MORE for caster then tanks but it STILL does hurt. and does stone of rebirth now add invuble to all damage after rez now? i remember somewhere it did that in drow....

Yes, rebith grants plot status for 6 seconds after it fires, not because rezzing causes FF but because rebirth does. Funky

I sure felt the pain of the mage in Desert last night. Once I died my contingency would kick in and I was dead before my "almost" instanteanous buffs were even in place (Think I better rearrange Auto-cast to put EV first wonder if that would help). Then teammate would rez me and I would be dead before I could even get off an EV or GS.
Any chance rez could give you the plot status long enough to get a spell off? In Desert I would be better off waiting to auto-rez from Immo if it weren't for all the XP I would lose waiting. It was so frustrating just dieing over and over again. And if you don't have that Mord ring out there you are sunk no questions about it you are a paper-weight that eats rez scrolls for breakfast.
If not Rez maybe the Contingency and Eternal Return, because in the areas where you lose Immo these can actually be detrimental as you die twice in a row back to back which reduces your respawn timer.
The GS of Eternal Return does not help you if your party happened to be beating on Snakes or something that caused your death.

Yes, I can tweak rez, not gonna just yet tho. Will def do it for the epics tho. Ok, time to clear up the myth of the unitary respawn timer. You auto when your respawn timer runs out. It does NOT reset when you get back up, however, so if you die again and are still dead when your first respawn timer expires, you will auto then, before your second timer comes due. It was a bug that was left in place because it rewards those who die less often. Maybe you knew that, apologies if so, but it sounded from your post like you had a slightly skewed notion of how it worked. Funky

Yes I think I do understand it, it just means I have 2 timers running because I died twice in a row almost instaneously and they will both be coming up at roughly the same time? If I am not rezzed before the first timer comes due I will fugue.

Exactly. Threw me a but when you said it'd shorten your timer.

As long as we are dispelling respawn timer myths,
If I die and get rezzed before my timer goes out, does that timer ever run out or reset while I am still alive? Or is it the case (for a VERY long time online), I die as a level 2 newb, get rezzed 5 seconds before my timer goes, then dink around and level to 20 or so, die and auto-fugue in 5 seconds?

If you are alive when the timer expires, it goes away. It doesn't lie in wait like some Final Destination grim reaper.

Shadow Shield:
Is suppose to give immunity to Necromancy spells, not sure if this is working, a nice effect for this spell would be:
Immunity to Negative Energy, to stop the need for the potions.

It already does both of those. Funky

Yes it works, and it DOES already give immunity to negative energy on top of that. Maybe you keep getting dispelled.

yes the lvl / stat drain is the part that I thought it would protect from as they are necromancy spells as well.

Not all level/stat drain is caused by necro magic tho. Think undead, demons, poisons, etc. All members of Group A are members of Group B, but not all members of Group B are members of Group A. Funky

It also protects from death magic, which is nice when I have to take off my death immunity ring to use the water breathing
