I was in the maze today, by accident I ran further into a part of the maze, massing more tribbles after me then I could handle and I died. I decided after popping back up to exit and despawn them (yes, I'm bad, spank me later) and continue. When I logged back on I started fighting again, and died probably within 2 minutes of my last death. This time I fugue'd. This was an immo character, on server 2, around 5pm CST today. I am not looking for gear/xp back, but the fugue surprised me so I thought I'd post to see if this is designed behavior or whatever.

If you logout while dead you lose immortality when you reenter. That's an antiexploit, and about the only way to fugue in an 'immortality works' area, at least that I can figure. Funky

its also possible to fugue when you're immortal if you change areas while dieing, doesnt happen much but possible. Also if server times out and you're dead you can fugue

Aye, more specifically, the check is whether you are in a valid area. You aren't when the oncliententer script runs, when you are set back to your logout hp (and 'die' again), as when you logout and login, or the server times out, if you die after clicking an area transition, that'd do it as well. I was in the pseudo-sanctuary-after-death phase when I exited (since I think if you exit when your dead the mobs will not despawn, you have to be alive to despawn anything). When I logged back in I was alive, and the mobs were gone, and all was well. Then, I walked down the hall, and was fighting 2 new ones, and I did the "Hit the F1 key for heal but already drank the stack" and died. This 2nd time I didnt exit, I just waited to pop, and Id say maybe 10-15 seconds I fugued.
I understand what you were saying regarding the zones, but except for zoning in to a part of the maze before this started, I did not zone. I also did not seem to lag out/disconnect from the server at that time, nor do I think the server was having any trouble.
I was thinking it had something to do with me setting the fugue timer the 1st time i died, and hitting that timers end during the 2nd time I died, but of course I dont know this.

Your area was invalid the first time you died, so the respawn timer was set, and you were dead when it expired. Funky
