Click on the add, it means they pay no matter what your political affiliation is.
And by pay I mean, keep the servers alive.

Um, no. The adds are for the bulletin board, which is free. HG2s is not, but we can add our own banners etc then. Funky

So you are saying if i click on the banner then money is paid to keep the servers alive?
Even though I have no intention of reading the ad itself. Once again American tax dollars being spent on frivolous expenses.
I say all the canidates get 1 million dollars each for campaigning. It would be interesting who has the most innovative way to get their message out versus he who has the most dollars on campaigning will win. Actaully use brains to win. Therefore, if McCain thought the video game industry was an important factor to him then you could see what he really supports. Otherwise this is just chump change to him.
Also by us clicking on the banner do they use that to add to their "polls"? Which makes me ask another question where do they or anybody else get polls from? How come I have never been asked to be in a poll?
*sigh*

So you are saying if i click on the banner then money is paid to keep the servers alive? No. Funky So the McCain ad is to keep the bulletin board free? Sorry don't mean to be the itch that doesn't go away, but just surprised to see a campaign ad on a bulletin board that one would expect to see gaming ads or something comparable. Again not a big issue just surprised. On another note, thanks for all the hard work you put into HG and this site Funky! While I have not read all the threads, I have yet to see one that acknowledges appreciation for the work you and others do to make HG exciting and worth loading NWN onto my laptop! OOoooo I 'm a warlord now ! Woops.... highergroundpoa.proboards3.com/index.cgi?board=Tavern&action=display&n=1&thread=3672

Even though I have no intention of reading the ad itself. Once again American tax dollars being spent on frivolous expenses. American tax dollars don't go to campaigns, campaigns are run off of donations raised by the candidate, or their supporters, not the US government. Polling data is collected by third party groups that specialize in that sort of thing. they take a "random" sample (randomness depends entirely on the bias of the smapling organization" based on statistical criteria (generally you can get a somewhat standard sample of the US with about 3000 well placed phone calls), where the organization mans phone banks who make calls to various randomly selected listed phone numbers in the US. in order for a poll to "count" in the polling data, the person who answers the questions generally has to be within the age of the majority (aka age allowed to legally vote) be a registered voter, and be willing to take the time out of their day to answer questions. polls are on the other hand, not a surefire way to judge the opinions of the masses, because generally polling questions are designed to be biased and incite particular responses based on the political leanings of the polling agency.
