I don´t know if this problem is because of my wrong connection, but it was OK half of the year. My problem is that I´m laggy on all servers. I can live with that but I´m not very useful. My ping is Ok I think. It is usually between 120 and 150. When I ask other players, they say they´re not laggy, even if they are from the middle of Europe too. Lags aren´t the biggest problem, however. I can´t see enemies, players and open doors often. My minimap doesn´t detect (explore...not sure with that word). And when this happens, I have lots of icons in the left upper corner of the screen (moving, opening, using, fighting etc.). This is what I remember in game. In the List of Servers (gamespy in game) some of Higher Ground servers are usually offline, or has no players and ping -1. "Server found, waiting for response. Server didn´t response." or something like that happens often too. The strangest problem is following: I normally play the game. Doing Lolth run for example. Suddenly, the huge lag starts. It´s normal . But it´s longer and longer and I say to myself "hmm, the server crashed". So I´m waiting for ejection, but nothing happens. I´m waiting minute, two minutes, five minutes so I get mad and I log off. When I look into the list of servers again, I see that all servers are ok, players are there and I can join it too with easy. I´m in the old place, but alone so I get out of there quickly . We were playing on LAN, both of us have different port. Internet connection is on the other computer, where´s Service Pack 2. I´ll try to switch the connection to my computer. that´s my only hope. I tried to ping the server by "cmd". I lost about 1 answer per 8 questions. This happens to some servers in other countries (www.fileplanet.com, nwn.bioware.com) but not to nwvault.ign.com for example. My country is Ok. Don´t you know why does this happen?

Ok, I switched connection but it doesn´t help. I can play about 10 minutes. then enemies freeze and I can still see them fighting even when they are dead. I can move, can talk but I can´t move to another area. The game crashes when I do that. i have a few screens but I don´t know how to put them here. I´ve heard I must put adress between [/img] but I don´t know any server where I can put picture.

Do you have anything else running while playing NWN? If your cpu and/or memory resources are being used up this will cause "lag". My other account has that problem sometimes, especially if theres a lot of graphics (spells, feedback etc) effects. I have also found excluding combat info (right click on top of window where combat info is shown, a radial shows up, select exclude combat info) I always do this in desert, right before lolth, beholders etc. Also how much memory do you have? Might want to consider upgrading to 1 gig of memory. Defragmenting your harddrive might help some. Or you could use a cpu upgrade if its the minimum of whats required.

Photobucket is the site I use for hosting images. It sounds like you might be infected with malware or spyware. That, or there's a connection problem. If you are on a cable modem, try unplugging it and letting it sit for a minute, and then plugging it back in. The other suggestions above are also possible, especially if you are running alot of other programs at once, or are getting a windows update download at the time. Funky

Thanks for help to all. I still was playing and it was a good choice. It was good since I wrote the problem report . If it comes again, I´ll try all the ideas you said. Some of them now of course (scan etc.). Thank you very much again. P.S.: My PC is quite old...1.8 Ghz, 256 RAM, nVidia GForce 4200 Ti .

This is indentical to the problem Shadowspawn and I referred to in our posts regarding "Something Change?" Unbelievably, Shadowspawn got our routing changed by our ISP here, however, the problem continues to occur. It occurs for me mostly in areas that cause lag anyway - namely, Lloth, Sith etc. It's the weirdest thing I've seen - All the combat, other players and monsters freeze, combat information freezes, but you can still converse in chat with other players. I see it all the time now where ppl are having to say they are relogging because they are frozen. It doesn't seem to happen to other players. It is definitely related to server use IMO as it's fine in the mornings (PST), but in the evenings when the servers are busiest it's much worse. I'm more than willing to admit that my computer is becoming old, however I played here for a month with no problems and then one day I started lagging/crashing. I wish I had more information or had paid more attention to when it started. Having said all that, I play 6 hours a day atm and the worst was when I initially posted and I believe in part it was related to our routing as when we had it changed, our pings dropped 200ms. At the moment I seem to crash once per day on average and I am simply trying to play when its less busy. Oh and, the game looks just fine with all video settings turned down to low -e

Thats graphics lag, very different from lag caused from isp or the server. Excluding combat info has helped me the majority of the time. If you do this theres less info for the video card to keep up with. If too much information is sent the card it just can't handle it and freezes. Although theres still been a few times I've completely frozen with combat info excluded., Its usually from areas in the desert (3rd map and deverial erye). Arrows, and lots of feedback damage seems to do this a lot.

If that's true the whole screen should freeze, why then can he still use chat normally?
