Okay I've just started playing a shifter - never played one before so maybe this is just some sort of bug (I wouldn't know any better). But the most incredibly stupid thing is the Kobold Commando form has this nice set trap skill bonus. But guess what? He can't use traps. "You can't use this item" (is the original game really that dumb?) The form also has a nice lockpick skill bonus but gee he can't use any thieves tools either. Grrrr. Why bother shapeshifting at all when a +10 tool kit gives you a better bonus than the kobold +7 and they can't be stacked?
Can we PLEASE have at least humanoid shifter forms able to use items? It seems both logical and probaly not unbalancing. I realize this could be hard coded and unchangable but if that can't be changed at least change the kobold set traps bonus to something the form CAN use (like say disarm traps) and maybe up the lockpicking bonus?
I have a 10 skill in set trap outside of transformation (I have been putting points into it in anticipation) I can set them okay in the non transformed state. With tranform it goes to 20 and I can NOT use trap kits anymore.
Also while I'm on the subject of shifters, I think I've discovered another bug. Apparently Battletide de-transforms you when you leave the area of effect. Doesn't seem to matter entering as much but leaving will kill the transformation every time. Quite scary and annoying in the middle of battle (also uses up limited transformations). Took a young lady being tossed in jail for that spell for me to figure it out.
Annoying but I think if people are aware of it it will be managable. Anyway any looking into is much appreciated.
