Hello, been meaning to post this idea of mine to bring some excitement to a area that well lets face it is not exciting anymore.
Loki's Hall:
First thing i noticed is that some of the monsters were gutted out of there and the three mini-boss's were pretty much made spell immune so that only fighters even wanna go in there for the fight and they drop crap for loot. The danger of the rogue spectors still present themself but not really a threat and the chests are decent enough for what should be in my opinion the first floor of a journey to a boss named Loki. My idea is this, add a portal in the top left of lokis so that after clearing that level you can advance to the next level and make this area like Bruce Lee's Game oF Death. Make each level progressively harder and throw a few random loots in chests with higher dcs in each level and also make the levels diverse ie: first is good for tank make another for mage, and another for cleric, etc. I think this would make more Groups want to go into lokis and also if you make about 6-7 levels deep in there you could really get some tough mobs in the higher levels making it not just a lowbie run but also put harder mini-boss's in each section and make the final level a parallel dimension with no immortal status to fight the final boss Loki who should be a powerful ArchLich and require some good strategy to beat by a diverse party.
Well there is my idea i have been brewing over last couple days and figured if anywhere needed to have some additions that lokis is definately prime candidate and it is not an area that take 6 hours to get to but if done right would require a good party to complete. Also make the levels have to be cleared to open the portal via a key or item.. might even be a better use for the lokis eye which just kills folks and is pointless seeing as how people dont run the underdark areas now until they are lvl 40+ and whats a death to an immortal in an area which allows immortality.

Ah yes another leftover from the old PoA that didn't really receive a full makeover. We will take your ideas into consideration with regard to the new LL areas that are going to be added. Let us know if you come up with anything else.

One thing I can tell you is that the dracolich in the crypt may need some attention - he's very much out of the way, and his loot and his difficulty are nothing remotely similar. Perhaps he needs to be looked at? Also - there are two areas in the deepbat caves with signs that say "new content coming soon" - could some of the LL areas be accessed through there so the signs have purpose in life?

I definitely agree with Delfestra on the Dracolich and I'd also like to bring up another dragon - Spawn of the Deep One. Presumably this is Dachy's kid? Well he/she is a total wimp, flighty (despawns with the flick of an eyelash) and drops no loot at all . . . Doesn't exactly lead one to the idea that the Deep One itself is anything special. I was wondering if that dragon could be placed in an actual lair - rather than just showing up in the middle of a passageway and maybe made into a new capped lowbie dragon - like bloodpool, lucy, big red and black stoner to insipire some fear so that you realize as a lowbie "Oh this is just the SPAWN of the deep one" As it is Dachy must be really embarassed. Along the same lines - is there an actual Uburos in the making? Given the existence of the Spawn of the Uburos dragon . . . -S

Kardkildontar is also a pushover dragon, no idea why he's capped at level 25 (he's easily killed solo before level 15

Loki is the norse god of mischeif if I remember correctly " Loki
A giant. Trickster god, possibly responsible for Baldur's death.
Adopted brother of Odin, bound to a rock until Ragnarok
Loki was a trouble instigator first class. Originally he was a giant, but because in his young years he mixed his blood with Odin, he was eventually taken in by the Asgards. He betrayed the Asgards and was ultimately responsible for Baldur's death. He gets punished for that by completely being tied up and then a venomous snake place on his head who dripped venomous saliva continuously onto his face. His wife however was completely faithful to him and stood next to him with a shallow bowl in her hand to catch the venomous saliva of the snake. Every once in a while, the venom would drip onto Loki's face and he had to shake his head so vigorously that the whole world would shake and tremor as what we call today earthquakes. Loki did have children in Asgard and some other strange offspring that he sired with the giantress Angrboda such as his son Fenrir, a giant wolf, his daughter Jormangund the serpent, and Hal (Hel) which became goddess of the kingdom of death.
As you can see, Hel is the origination word for Hell, also known in other countries as Hoelle and Holla, Holle.
Loki changed his appearance into a female and was impregnated by a beautiful horse named Swadilfari and gave birth to the stallion Sleipnir."

Yes, viking mythology is very very weird. We all live inside the hollowed out skull of their proto-giant, and frost giants came out from between his toes...truly wacky creation mythology.
Anyway, Loki is bad bad news. A god of fire, and lies, who ultimately betrays the Aesir, causes the death of one of them for fun, spawns vile nasty things that kill others, and captains the ship of the dead out of the underworld (made of the finger and toenails of the dead) to fight against the Aesir on the day of Ragnarok.

Exactly which could make for a very interesting high level boss fight and with the lore behind the name would be pretty interesting areas if kept sort of to the myth.

Should this Loki area be a LL thing, or something lower, like a late Farm level difficulty?

Whatever it is, if we go ahead with it, we'll have to find some way to rectify the clash of mythos, like a dimensional portal. Never been too happy about having an area named after a Norse god in a FR setting. Funky

I've never particularly thought it to fit in either, which is why I would vote for replacing it with an LL area, perhaps a portal to another plane...a more--ordered plane *nudge* perhaps?

or a time shift plane (where the corpse lord succeded in capturing the crown...or other plots already included in the various books) This could be easily fit in for the small LL area (just include docks and town, maybe a couple of indoor areas)
