Tanks have wider equipment options, not needing to rely on spell slot items, thus they can cover elemental immunities more readily. I see Elemental Shield and Acid Sheath as a tool for casters to partially make up for their strict equipment reliances.

I see Elemental Shield and Acid Sheath as a tool for casters to partially make up for their strict equipment reliances. The tanks who use Elemental shield and to a certain extend Divine Shields have to use mord ring or breach ring. They have less chance to cover immunities as they can only use 1 ring. Also you missed the point. Its about enabling them to use the spell and Divine Shields in Hells. This just isnt possible dodrudon. You missed out the talk about Divine Shield that are not casters. Also you missed the point of SM who are also melee and not real casters. SO back to what I said: Sounds like the best option is to allow Divine Shield to have !kboff command. Also maybe if have less than 20 levels of caster then Elemental shield has 25% immunity and KB can be disabled with the command as well. I would prefer SM to use Elemental Shield to cover the immunities rather than the idea pushing for SM to get special boots that only they can use with the mord/breach immunity. And it would be great if Paladins and Blackguards could use their Divine Shield as often as they like which would be for the immunity and not damage capability of the ability - hence the !kboff suggestion. I'm not talking about Divine Shield, that's a balance issue and also something I'm not familiar with.
As for spells, the casters who use Elemental Shield and Acid Sheath have to wear anti-mord/breach rings as well. SMs are melee, but they can also cast conceal, and can also go the dex route to get massive AC. If there were no cost to using Elemental Shield, you might as well say "okay everyone gets a permanent +50% fire/cold immunity" because you can easily scribe those to scrolls for those with UMD, and potions can be readily found (not to mention brewed).

Isn't the duration from scrolls 1 round or similar?

OMG, have you ever tried to create a dex SM that works for hells? I can see you havent because you have to spend a hell of a lot of feats for saves. Even using a bur race with Bur robes the best you hit is around 124ac, thats with monk spash as well. Not quite as amazing as you say when hells ab is 119-122. And yes even with very high conceal you do get hit a lot.

Wait, you'd have to spend MORE feats for saves if you go dex instead of strength?? Going dex increases reflex save, going strength increases none of the saves...
I'm not saying SMs should go dex over strength, though.
