This is a nice soundbite, but turners are quite obviously overpowered, as raj points out. We've been kicking around possible solutions for a couple months now, and I think we finally have something. It'll be some time before it gets implemented, however, since we just discovered a rounding error that was causing some very tough spawns (cornies and amnizus) to have lower than intended TR, and we want to regauge the amount of the nerf. In my opinion turners are still very powerful and quite overpowered. Why not reduce their current turn ability until a more balanced version is worked out like what you did with the manticore form for shifters? Right now turners literally pwn almost every layer.

Well, I am keeping my fingers crossed that splash turners will still be useful after the changes, because I decided to make mine a splash (1 paladin level) turner after watching a pure turner get repeatedly spanked on a Malbolge run. TBH, I was amazed he did not limbo.

Right and unlike shifters that actually have some other options (although these seem to be of limited effectiveness at the minute) turners can do exactly what if they get nerfed hard? I'm not against some tweaking but immediately nerfing they're turning ability (especially as it sounds like some spawns including cornys and amnis and being turned too easily anyway) smacks of somebody that's cherry picked and not read the whole thread.

But as for lag of late it has been a tad annoying mind you my laptop isnt of the top range You lot that did nessus virtually had the server to yourselves so cant understand where you got lag As I've heard it, the servers are currently running two per machine so server 5 and server 6 are on the same box, with the burden on 5 thus having some effect on the lag on server 6. Right and unlike shifters that actually have some other options (although these seem to be of limited effectiveness at the minute) turners can do exactly what if they get nerfed hard? Someone asked Funky that after the first turner nerf, and his response was that they can still do party healing.

Oh, right, I'm the one cherrypicking. You clearly read the part where I said we'd been discussing the change for MONTHS. This one almost won the asshat award. Funky

Original Poster might want to start a new thread for the new Nessus run. Re-typing the original post in this convoluted, multi-subject thread is just confusing.

I must admit that I was using my pure turner in Cania last night and whilst I was managing to immobilise quite a lot of stuff we had a cleric to implode winds and do other cleric like things. The previous night we'd tried without a cleric (with a similar party make-up) and I'd used over 70 turns by time we got to the first ramp and it ended up with all but three of us in Limbo.
