Noob with skill points not carrying over

Please note I capitalized the N in noob. Must say I'm just getting started with the working side of NWN PW's and I really appreciate this tool? , er chunk of script that I don't know the proper terminology for? the HGLL system. *nods me*

Skill points are not carrying over when saved for next LL :

I have searched some and found that something called an int.? Is responsible for the only persistant piece of the HGLL system. I'm not sure what system info you need and don't need. HGLL was preinstalled on the Mod. I'm using, and I hand setting up the mysql database.

Feel like I'm probably asking about something as simple as what's a lug nut on a car do, unfortunately this pc isn't a car and gaming is my second passion. Thanks for any help you can be in advance.

This means that your database isn't working properly. HGLL just uses a standard aps function:

nSkillPoints = GetPersistentInt(oPC, "PointsAvailable");

If that's returning nothing, it's because it isn't interacting with the database properly. Do you have your MySQL database set up properly? If you think so, please post the following logs from the nwn/logs.0 folder:

nwnx.txt
nwnx_odbc.txt

That will let me tell you what the issue is, hopefully.

Awesome. Thanks for takin' a look at something that's not really a HGLL problem, You're probably right about not having my database set up correctly. At least the error message in the nwnx_odbc.txt makes me think thats the problem, and the fella that helped me set it up was uncertain whether or not his way was correct. Guees it wasn't. lol

Again thanks for takin time to look. If you're right, and that error is in pretty plain english, lol so I think you are. Any help you can be or just in pointing me to another forum or help site would be greatly appreciated.

Seriously, they can probably help you better than I - the link to the forums is on that page. I would post those logs there, along with your nwnx.ini file, with the password changed. You can post the ini here as well, if you like, I'll take a look as well.

Talk about litterally under my nose. :( *blushes*

I'll go do that and look through those forums. Hopefully I'll figgure it out from there. If not or if anything else comes up, then I'll post back here. :) Thanks for the offer to look at it tho. And Thanks for the tip to change my passowrd before posting. :)

I greatly appreciate your time, patience, and the way you went about helping me, as much as the help itself. Awesome job with the HGLL system! It really adds so much playability to the NWN engine imho. Not just for the player, but for the builder/admin. too.
