Playing around with some of the less used races, looked at skulk, and can't figure out if there is any real use of the race.
For those who don't want to tab over, here's the stats:
"Skulk" (secret subrace) - requires Elf (changes Appearance) STR -2, DEX +1, WIS +1, CHA -2, +2 hide, +2 move silently, free feat: Darkvision, free feat: Self-Concealment I
It's one of the few races that will get you such a significant net negative (-2) for stats. Fortunately one of the hits is CHA, which is pretty easy to build around. Darkvision and the +2 skills are pretty meaningless, but the SC I is interesting.
The problem I see is that to get SC2-5 you have to get all the usual costly feats and skills so it really only saves you one feat.
I was thinking you could make an moderately interesting ranger 30 Shadow Dancer 10
Anyone have any other interesting uses for this (rarely used) race?

You don't actually get the SC I feat, but a 10% concealment, as was mentioned in a recent thread.
Also, even if you did get the SC I feat, you'd still need to meet the requirements to get the SC II feat, just like getting Auto Quicken Spell I wouldn't let you get Auto Quicken Spell II or Auto Still Spell I for free.
(I'm assuming in that last paragraph. It makes sense to me.... Can someone actually check the coding to be sure?)

Probably be semi-useful for a dex monk with either some shadow dancer or assassin levels thrown in or vise versa.

Oh no this is not the same as the Ghostwise Halfling, you do actually get SC I and what it means is that you can build an assassin with SC V as you no longer need Epic Dodge because I've seen one somebody created. Admittedly you have to sacrifice the possibility of taking WM levels to improve your critical chance but if you want an assassin with SC its the only easy way to do it where you don't end up with your ab down the toilet (Monk 9/Ftr 1 anybody?). I think you still need the Hide 30 though but I'm not sure, try it out in the test chamber if you have access to this subby. I'd try some combination of Ftr/Rogue, say 1-8 Ftr, 9-10 Rogue 11-60 Assassin for a start. This should get you Evasion, SC V and an OK ab. With the bonus Ftr feats you can probably go kukri rather than rapier or possibly have focus in more than one weapon type to use as your dev crit item switching as necessary.

i have build a assasin 60 lvl with skulk with sc 5 it is nice but tht was before tehy got 70 % conseal form imp inv teh nice thing about skulk is that you dont need imrpove eveation to get sc 2 just dex 30 and tumble 30 hide 30 so you can use it on tight dex builds but probly useless now build if you need a build with sc and are tight on classes then it might work

-2 to any stat can be a real killer plus dont forget elf's start with 6!! con which to me makes the entire elf race prety useless unless there is a subby for elf giving a +2 to con. Only reason to pick elf would be for creating an AA.....

you are right the race is allmost useless now with the assasin class upgrad and better races .but at that time it ws the only way to get sc 5 with out 9 lvl useing kamas and haveing 4 base attacks the only thing it has going for it is the fackt it is invisble so I might take on guild event and try to sneak up on people:) and you look a littel liek Black blad of disaster when fighting
cheers
