Ok its a silly idea but perhaps it might be fun. This started the other week when I was in a loot split after a fairly non productive run. We had everything in the mass seller to start with so that we could just go and do something else right away, after the roll and the round of "pass on loot" I was the last one there and down at the bottom was this endless shuriken container called "Monks Mantras". Hmmm I thought to myself I wonder why this had not been chosen, so I took it and then proceeded to brag to everyone how I just got some +12 ninja stars with some sick damage. Well I have been trying to work out builds that might use throwing stars as their primary weapon and I am not having much luck. I think that including some monk in there would be a good idea so I dint have to spend a feat to use shriukens. I was also thinking of using some weapon master but I am not sure if you can be a master of the throwing star? Anyone ever make a build that uses these things? Would I want to max wisdom and go for the zen archery feat (I am not sure if it would apply) or should I max dex? What might a third class that would compliment Monk/WM be (SD? DD? rogue?). Any ideas or help is much appreciated.

One nice thing is you can use Zen Archery and a shield/heavy armour if you want.

Weapon of Choice for a WM has to be a melee weapon. I can't say I've ever been a fan of the Zen Archery feat although it does give some flexibility for a non-Dex missile weapon user. It would potentially be useful for a cleric although unequipping a staff to use them would be a major pain as you'd have to re-slot all your spells when you changed back. In HG this is a big deal as you can get so many extra spells from some of the high level saves I could only see somebody doing this if they'd run out of spells and rests and even then you'd have to give up another potentially useful feat to take Zen Archery in the first place. The new halfling subby with sling feats interests me though as I wonder whether this indicates some upcoming gear for non-AA missile builds?
