I have managed to get this char to lvl 40 and Lloth tagged as of last night. I am really liking the damage output at low levels (Zents got pasted alot recently ), but find that (in drow at least) I spend a lot of time whiff-whiffing instead of hitting. I did notice that he was not dis-robed by Lloth during that final fight, but cannot confirm that she even tried to hit me. I am hoping the AB-challenged status changes when I level up to 41 (+10 Str and therefore +5 AB due to Great Smite 10) and I may need to be relying more and more on Extended Divine Favour (which I have until now used only sparingly). But I have noticed with my RDD (see sig) who often has 75-85 fully buffed AB on Tia and Dis runs, that he spends alot of time missing things like Narzugons and Erinyes. So I am a bit concerned about this build's ability to do non-smite damage to these mobs. I have been very lucky to accumulate Dustbone and Dispater Light flails in advance, as well as the Thid-set Pally amulet and the UR pally heavy armour (Vanguard of the Daystar) so any help getting Immo, Sissy, DB and Thid tags would be marvelous. Even if you hit on 1's against cockroaches, you will still only hit them 50% of the time due to their concealment ( I think they're 50% concealed).

Sounds like you neglected to take blind fight, which is critical for hitting concealed foes. Funky

Sounds like you neglected to take blind fight, which is critical for hitting concealed foes. Funky All of my melee characters always have Blindfight, so that is/was not the issue. I am currently playing a smiter build and he does excellent damage. My only concern is the amount of damage that he takes. I put my smiter on hold for the last month or so to make my Half-Guardinal RDD. Now that the RDD is Dis-tagged I have returned to this character and find the above comment to be puzzlingly apparent. Damage output is nice, to be frank. But constantly chugging heal potions really limits damage output. This character takes huge amounts of damage that my RDD never seemed to take. I do not think it is fire, but I honestly do not know what it is since I lack a combat log parser. I am a bit of a simpleton when it comes to add-ins like this, I am afraid. All things considered, this character might have to be scrapped, unless I can find ways to reduce the amount of damage this character takes. Trazik

I realized this morning that maybe the reason I am taking so much damage is because the character is only using Ssithrak Heavy Armour (15% physical damage immu). Perhaps it will change if I get the build to level 50 and use the Vanguard of the Daystar heavy armour.
Food for thought ...

Clearly, with the changes to monster-based critical hits in the module, this build is not worthy of anyone's attention. The 42 Str listed in the beginning includes the +12 ability bonus from items and therefore is 10 short of the temporary critical hit immunity function of the death ward spell.

i made something similar. since you get +1 str for every smite feat once you're immo, 40 str is not that impossible at all.

Not impossible, but another one for the re-work pile. Considering my RDD needs rework (again) I think I am simply going to add this character's gear to my trade list.
2 steps forward, 1.75 steps back.
