I need to admit up front that I am very uneducated when it comes to builds. I have always relied on the wisdom of others to guide my char's progress (read: Builds ). Anyway, I have OneEyed, and am 48 lvls into Chainlink's 'Favoured' build, but am not sure whether it might have been viable to sub the WM route for the SD, and end up with less Assassin levels and better crit range and damage. I have built a few test's cases, and while I can definately take the 6 F, 7 WM, it only leaves me with 27 Assassin lvls pre-LL, which if I read correctly, is one level shy of getting the DevCrit ability? I guess I could go 5 WM and forgoe the +2 to threat range, but seems a large sacrifice. Also, at this rate, it will mean 47 lvls of Assassin (inc. LL) which give you a +5 to the DC. No idea if that hinders the ability or not too much to make it worthwhile? Also, I am not clear on the 'order' in which levels are supposed to be taken for maximization. When i built my test cases, I took the first 6 F's, then 7 WM's, then rest straight assassin, but likely there is a reason to move them around in the order I just don't understand? Finally, any idea if the consumption of something would grant a feat to this subrace, or is that what they mean when they say, 'Some subraces will find they cannot ...... Other subraces will find that their intrinsic penalties are ameliorated....' Thanks for any thoughts / suggestions / knowledge. BloodWynn

I have been looking into this build, but I too am not a great builder Inspired by the Dev Critter (3rogue/7WM/30'ssin), I thought of level order beign: 1fighter, 10assassin, 7WM, 2 fighter, 19 assassin, 1ftr = 4ftr, 7WM, 29 'ssin The prerequisites for assassin are met by the subrace bonus (Hide, move silent). Fighter at 40 for Discipline (not sure if it is needed) I have not tested it yet, as I don't have One-Eye The Consumable that may grant feats/stop penalties only works on NON-SECRET races, but one-eye is Ultra-Rare Secret.

'ssin = Minimum 28 WM = Minimum 7 Unused levels = 5
10 out of your 20 pre-epic levels must be non-assassin. Your 1st level cannot be 'ssin or WM. If you get all 7 WM before 21, this still leaves 2 levels to fill. After this it is assassin all the way to 38
So, what class to take at levels 1, 19, 20, 39, 40? 1, 19 and 20 must all be the same. 39 and 40 would be nice to be 'ssin (max dev crit). Options I see are Fighter (feats, discipline, ab), Monk (Evasion, tumble. Kama's are exotic 20/x2, but get Monk ab progression), erm ... not sure what else would work ...
I will be working with this template just as soon as I get One-Eye to run some tests on

28 AS/7 WM/3 FTR
Built on a Half-Orc base Half-Orcs are the short-tempered and sullen result of human and orc pairings. They would rather act than ponder and would rather fight than argue. They love simple pleasures, such as feasting, boasting, and wild dancing. They are an asset at the right sort of party, but not at the duchess's grand ball. Half-orcs are as tall as humans but their brutish features betray their lineage. They also regard scars as tokens of pride and things of beauty. They rarely reach 75 years in age. Orcish ability adjustments: +2 Str, -2 Int, -2 Cha Favored class (Barbarian): A multiclass half-orc's barbarian class does not count when determining whether he suffers an XP penalty for multiclassing. then "One-Eyed" (secret UltraRare subrace) - requires Half-Orc STR +2, CON +3, WIS +3, CHA -2, free feat: Cleave, +10 hide, +10 move silently, +10 intimidate

The main con of this build is no evasion so you'll always be taking more damage than an equivalent rogue/monk/SD splash but you will be getting the increased critical range. Its not possible to do this with any class other than Ftr due to the bonus feats.
