I never understood why 35/4/1 should be the way to go on a combat cleric; i'd follow a cheesier 38/1/1 route, giving up 1 ab for 1 epic feat, better casterlevel and no xp penalty. Not great changes but I'd feel more confortable with that: you're not going to malee w/o divine power on, so you're not missing any extra attack from the 26bab version 4 paladin pre-epic gives another attack per round. It also gives free fear immune.

that 4th attack is given back by the divine power spell, which grants same att/round of a fighter type ( in addiction to the 2 custom at 45 and 55 )

Uhm but you can take human as base race and no penalty. There are plenty of good races to choopse from that use Human as base or can use human as base. And even with a 20% penalty you get decent xp if going on the right runs. (meaning no desert but go to thids, beholders, hell you still get close to a 1000xp a kill) But i would go for human. Fallen angel is good or Hound Archon if its abvailable (hope to get that one day and then this project will have a go) or just aasimar is a good and easy to obtain subrace. Prismatic can work too BUT the stats are not ideal but the immuuns on the other hand are quite nice. Plenty of ways to go around it.
