most "great" characters is defined by their gear then their build I HOPE this isn't true, and I don't think it is. Though I'd certainly grant that a good build can't be a great character without the proper gear. It's difficult to keep builds in the forefront all the way up to level 60, but we try. I'm probably gonna do something for the poor, benighted fighter next update, so if anyone else has any thoughts on it, now's a good time. Funky

By fighter do you mean tank classes or just fighter? I just got the ranger secrets for Neely and wow does it make a big difference. What I would really like for rangers would be some sort of feat at Legendary lvl that would add a keen equivilant to ranged attacks. I have her focus in rapier and in longbow but without wepon specialization she will never be able to do massive damage with her bow. I sure hope I havent muffed her up by having her focus in 2 different wepons...... Peace, Phantanya

Funky i like the old idea of give lvl 30 fighter Defensive Roll feat and lvl 35 epic dodge. other ideas would be mordif useless feat like Dirty Fighting, disarm(which only seem to work on the bow gaurdian in lair), and maybe called shot. i know u cant change the feat its self but i was think along the line of that a fighter-kind or just fighter with min of 25 or 20 level and have those feats can get some kind item that give speical buff. like dirty fighting which is like useless in the game. maybe u can create a item that give +2 to ab and +3 magic or 5 negtive damage for 3 or 5 min once or twice perday? for disarm/ imp disarm maybe a item that can cast interposing hand 3 time a day? and as for "Though I'd certainly grant that a good build can't be a great character without the proper gear." yea true. but the defination of proper gear is too vage dont u think? it would mean from normal +10 to +16 and dachy gear. sorry to say but some of player on HG dont know how to max their character. i dont want to pick on fusa or anything but some vertan on HG still doesnt know how dc work. i have party with "great" mage who doesnot know how where their dc come from but still has more spell vs mage who max their int or cha. the same thing can be say about tank where as ok build tank ahve more ac and stand alive longer then build that took some planing. i guess this is just some bouses to vertan player...........

I do understand what dc is for the regular casters in the mod (didnt know exactly how it was improved for a lvl 30 pm) I don't understand most of that last post though.

For info, regarding spell DCs, the thing that tripped me up was the changes in the bioware patches, not the mod or the NWN version of the 3e rules themselves. The latest patch has bonuses to DCs on the casting of certain spells... for example +3 on implosion

Bioware patches don't affect our spells unless I go in and make the changes, in which case I change the descriptions in the spell books.

Yes, unless I change it. I haven't decided yet on that one, but I probably won't make the change, because it would hose PMs. Funky

Will the 1.67 change do the same thing to clerics casting destruction, and if so, do you envision altering that spell?
(I had a dream about palemasters last night. I blame Fusa. It was weird. Balors had 100 pt divine kickback like Visage of Doom used to. I was shocked that they'd become useful. But then I went after illitids solo, and it didn't end well because I couldn't cast lifebane fast enough. Except that the illithids were underwater. Made their tentacles float. It was weird.)
One thing you could do for fighter, if you can alter feats, is up the damage on their specalization feat? Really, that is the only *reason* to play fighter, other than tons of feats, is that they get +6 damage that others don't. Everything else they have, you can get elsewhere and get other benefits also. Even for the extra feats, taking 10 levels of CoT gets you saves bonuses for just showing up.
Or give fighters of a certain level access to dev crit. I mean, why be a fighter when you can be a fighter 10 assassin 30? They're the new tanks thesedays...*because* of dev crit and the ability to get it using a STR build.

dmg resistance would be helpful for fighter but to my own experince itnt would help that much. first of all there are alot of item in the game already offer dr/imm to element damage and up to 25/- for physic damage and 10 for exotic.(for me asleast can reduced damage in the ssith about between only 10s to 40s not include critical) second, the dm cannt really give fight domain character too many damage dr since that would cut in to dd domain. tempery double HP would be nice. however i just find out that 1k of temperyHP doesnt really last that long in combat with 113ac at least. even if funky give fighter ablity to tempery double their HP 3 or 5 time a day, a battle with dachy would likely take more time then for he to breath 5 time( which does 1600? damage in total if dont have neg imm) --- the 25+ levels of fighter limit so people can throw in other levels of classes. I think being straight 40 levels of fighter would bore anyone eventually, since your only dmg output is the weapon u have to practically beg or spend days and days to get it on a roll. as for lvl 40 fighter.......... well pure lvl fighter isnt a great build in the first place (no offense to anyone) it just dont have any edge to it other then that they can take all 10 epic toughess... but again 30fighter 10 cot would do that trick too... when u take a close look at HG, it is a power gameing sever. RPG doesnt really matter that much and it most "great" characters is defined by their gear then their build(well maybe not apply to all caster..) i favour giveng figher domain character combat feat like epic dodge. maybe you should try to get funk to give epic dodge for lvl 35 fighter which seem to me to be fair and very, very useful. Out of all the feats, I agree epic dodge would help so much for a fighter build, but doesn't that still work off your reflex and dex? The two things fighters don't have alot of, usually?

curious, since monks are immune to mind effects at lev 20, do illithid still crush their heads like grapes?
keep some areas rediculously hard, it gives me a rush and on the edge of my seat trying to think of new ways to beat them, will make the great loot more precious. and encourage great parties. I mean at some point you have to seperate the wheat from the shaft. sure it sucks to lose items, but will make for more interesting play and keep players more focused i think. prob should have areas where your more than likely to have a few respawn. the loot drops will be worth the risk, and its not like you wont have a chance to get another item, kinda a reason to keep playing. Not talking about all the areas, or even most, but at least one to three areas should be for the lucky and the brave.

Natural immunity, including 20 Monk and Shifter Construct and Undead forms, are still valid in Illithid areas. Only item immunity is stripped.
