Okay...so...I am a noob. How would I get this to work on a second computer?
Do I have to have NWN on the second computer? And it has to have internet access capabilities right?

Assuming you're using XP (hope so, no idea about Vista): I suggest you set it up so that your logs are created on your 2nd computer (the one you wanna run the parser on)* and then run the parser on that computer. You need the two computers to be networked (only the one you play on needs access to the internet) and you need a directory on your 2nd computer (the one you wanna run the parser on) to be shared, so that you can access it and create your log files there from your first computer. *Do this by opening nwn.ini from your nwn install directory and changing the line that reads LOGS=.\logsto LOGS=.\\ubercomputer2\strykerslogswhere ubercomputer2 is the network name of your 2nd computer** and strykerslogs is the sharename of a folder you've shared on your network. To share a folder on your network (assuming you've set up a network already between the two computers either from one network card to another or via a router or via a wireless router (or telepathy)) choose a folder on your 2nd computer you want to save your logs in, right click on it and click 'Sharing and Security'. Then tick 'Share this folder on the network', type in strykerslogs and tick 'Allow network users to change my files'. **To check the network name of your computer, right click on My Computer on the desktop and click 'Computer Name'. Click 'Change' if you want to change it. Both computers should be in the same workgroup btw. I haven't yet tested this myself as my old PC gfx card has gone to the fluffy motherboard in the sky, but unless i've missed something (possible) the above should work. Good luck, let me know how it goes! -Bort

I find having the logs saved on the main computer offers an advantage in that I can start my logwatching computer up later and start to the logwatcher whenever I want. If you set logs to be saved on your other computer if it crashes or your ethernet cable falls out (it's an ongoing problem at my house) your main computer has nowhere to write logs and I have to restart NWN.
To get round the parser not being able to select a networked folder from another computer, have your main computer save logs to a shared folder on itself. On your logwatching computer then go to my computer, rightclick anywhere and click map network drive. Find the shared folder on the other computer with the logs in it and assign it a letter. Now the parser is able to select that as a directory and you can start your logwatcher whenever you want.

Ah, thanks Crimson. I *think* (again untested) you should be able to specify a network folder for the parser to access by modifying settings.ini in the parser directory manually. i.e. NwnDir=\\ubercomputer1\strykerslogs\nwclientLog1.txt (note that there's no full stop as used in nwn.ini)
Don't think that this method is any different/better in terms of results, probably just easier to set up (assuming it works).

Any chance you could add a simple but semi-useful stat? How many more of the previous kills to level? You have both pieces right there (the exp for last kill, and TNL) so this would be nice.

I'm still waiting for this to be an Overlay version. Had my 2nd monitor Die and really no room on desk for it anyway :-(

One thing I noticed (realize it's not big); it's not so easy to get the commands when you need them. Could you add a "cheat sheet" dialog somewhere, or even in the bottom scrolling tip list, just a button to scroll it faster?

One thing I noticed (realize it's not big); it's not so easy to get the commands when you need them. Could you add a "cheat sheet" dialog somewhere, or even in the bottom scrolling tip list, just a button to scroll it faster? Apologies for the slowest reply ever, thought i'd already replied to this. They're already posted on the first post of this thread. In game commands: (type them into chat) /w .reset damage - clears the incoming and outgoing damage info /w .reset stats - clears xp gained and kills/deaths /w .reset fuguetimer - resets fugue timers /w .hidepartyroll - hides the party roll window (comes up automatically after a roll) /w .showpartyroll - shows the party roll window /w .stats - shows/hides the party stat window - !who party class updates it with your current party. /w .rank - calculates the top 3 killers, damage dealers and attack dodgers in your party (assuming you have used !who party class at the start of the run) and copies this information to the clipboard, allowing you to paste it into chat using CTRL+V. Party roll commands are kinda pointless now as a change to how !partyroll works broke the party roll viewer in the parser and i haven't got round to fixing it yet, as with !list immThere's also /w .lockparty and /w .unlockparty for locking and unlocking the party list in the /w .stats window - usually helpful if guild chat or tells are disprupting the /w .stats window as i have experienced.

Thought i should mention that i have no plans to update this any time soon as claus' YAL seems to have superceeded it.
I still use it occasionally (mainly because i've been too lazy to download YAL), so feel free to PM me if you have any issues not already mentioned in the thread.
Cheers -Bort

I tried this Parser on the recommendation of some friends although i run Vista Ultimate 64bit and i have the same issues with it as stone and the others it works to a point. I start it and run as suggested it seems to work but then i have to hit the start button again to make it pick up the party then after that it stops working and have hit start again to make it log more something in it just don't work with vista not complaining its a great program looks nice seems to be great for XP but vista is whole nother beast to take on Cha1nz

Really, really, really sorry to necro, but really wanted to try this!
How do I get it started? I have it up, but don't know how to make it trace my character/party.

YAL is much better than BORT's. Borts was essentially abandoned. Yal also comes in an .exe format which makes it easy.
