Therefore wearing something with Earthquake immunity (in areas where this is frequently cast) is advisable, unfortunately positive immunity potions completely cancel out negative immunity potions so you can't have both up at the same time so generally that's not a solution although at least you don't have negative vulnerability in undead forms.

Wow, good to know. Still, the 50% slashing resist of Risen Lord is painful to lose (No pun intended) That would make it too OP. It's nearly invulnerable as it stands now, especially with PFF and PFD.

Heh, I will have to check my build. My Gargoyle is much stronger than Risen Lord, at the moment.

You can safely assume to have around 50% physical immunities baseline: 30% from heavy armor, 10% from cape, 10% from gloves. Other slots sometimes come with phys immunities too, typically 5% on boots, amulets, or shields. The real bane of undead forms is positive damage, most of them except baelnorn have vulnerability (-50% for Risen Lord iirc). For real, if you get caught in the middle of Earthquake spam as undead, you are toast. I thought earthquake caused bludgeoning damage.

For real, if you get caught in the middle of Earthquake spam as undead, you are toast. I thought earthquake caused bludgeoning damage. Wiki is your friend - Description: The caster causes a massive earthquake around himself, causing 1d6 points of bludgeoning damage per caster level (reaching 25d6) to all creatures in the area of effect. At caster level 25, the damage increases to 1d8 per caster level (reaching 60d8), and the damage type switches from bludgeoning to positive. The caster is not affected by the earthquake. So unless your Risen lord can handle potentially taking 720 points of damage for every EQ (and boy they sure do like spamming the spell!) you're going to want to do something about it.

My goodness, learning the twists of HG vs Regular is like drinking from a firehose! However, the differences aer very engaging and definitely breathe new life into the game.
Hmmm, did/would the devs ever consider giving positive energy immunity to the Crystal Golem and/or Silver Dragon forms?
(Not so much for earthquake immunity; I just want to be able to explore the Hall of Statues and finally find out what is hidden on those two bodies. The loot keeps getting broken!)

Baelnorn's have positive immunity (at least, according to the docs)

D'oh! x2!!! Why didn't one of you point out to me that it was _divine_ damage from the statues, not positive damage!
*sigh* so Are there any Divine immunity items or forms? Couldn't we replace leonal with Celestial Avenger or hound archon (or lantern archon, if you are worried about unbalanced forms) then give that form divine immunity?

Just lure them away from the statues, then kill them near the entrance. Can't count how many hardcore characters I've lost in there though.

If you are talking about the hall of statues under Anduin, don't try to survive the explosion, you probably aren't going to. You better be crafty with avoiding it, try one of these: 1. Run to the other end where the guardian with key spawns in GS, kill the guardian, get outta there. 2. Try to maneuver golems to make sure their spells are not directed at the statues. It is possible, but very tricky. 3. (my favorite) Buy several copies of necklace of fireballs or lesser amulet of oltuin (with ice storm charges) and blast the statues from afar. The explosion radius is smaller than reach of those spells, so you can do it from safety. You clear the way of statues and they will also kill some of the golems.

For my part i use the ice storm Necklace to pass the statues, if you go to spaw the golems and run back quick and when far enough use the ice storm on one of the 2 statues you will kill the 2 spaw golem easyly, just do this just to the end of the room, when near the gate to go out the main golem will spaw.
after a couple time you will find out this is not a problem to pass there

I think the point was to not destroy the plot items, right?
Lure them away the first time through to see them, then the Amulet of the Aleutian(Ice Storm ammy) to make it easy and worry free from then on.
ps: the fireball spell can't target the statues unfortunately... found that out the hard way too... lol

Oh, I can get past them easily enough (Rakshasa ice storm, or even just run up and run back _very_ quickly) The trouble was that it took _forever_ to finally get to that first corpse without it getting turned into broken loot.
All that for a beat-up, hastily scribbled note. *sigh*

In the docs, we might want to explicitly point out that constitution buffs have been removed from shifter forms
(and that on-hit properties are not carried over to weapons)
