Nonsense, because people would trade 3 of those bugged subraces the market is currently still flooded with, for a subrace that always dropped as intended.
That being said another problem ( well, big words ) with BUR books is the lack of good races for base classes, expecially casters that rely on DC; everybody is after the same 3-4 races with +6 to the main stat: there's no equally good alternative to a radiance genasi for a sorc, to H-C and Rilmani for divine casters, with fav class playing a role as well, and Genie is flex enough to be better than Spelljammer and Negatai, even on most PM builds ( things might change with gnome inventor, but can always make a gnome genie... ).
There're a lot of good bur subraces when you want to build a tank, a archer, a bard, but beside the introduction of Drow Noble ( that came out with the 'nerf/fix' to droprate so there're no books taking dust in vets bankchests and it's basically out of the market ) nothing has been made to alleviate the perceived need of the same old books.
Therefore, to help diversity in caster builds and give one more chance for a bur variant of builds required for high level runs, and to deraliate this thread a bit more, what about couple new bur races with +6 to cha or wis and bonus gsf to underused schools, like abj or ench?

I take from it that you are saying that by not catering to to the whim of many players, HG is actually more fun in the long term. I get that. I want A LOT of chocolate-peautbutter ice cream pie, I want to just shove it i my face and bathe in the rush of yummy induced endorphins. But after a day or two of that I am not going to even want to look at it or think abut it. And BINGO was his name-o!

Meanwhile, I'm thinking about doubling the number of loot spots BUR books get to 2, making them about 1/70 instead of 1/137 or whatever it is at present (that number will be getting higher in a few days with the introduction of new burs). Funky Bravo! I think that is wise. I like it.

Nonsense, because people would trade 3 of those bugged subraces the market is currently still flooded with, for a subrace that always dropped as intended. That is the point. Draining the 'economy' of a commodity that is undervalued due to there being too much of it. The undervalued commodity being greatly lessened, would increase in value. So you trade in "X, Y, and Z" which are perfect for "X, Y, and Z" classes to get "A", because you want to build an "A" character now and not "X", "Y" or "Z". Six weeks later you want to build "Y" class, but have to attain it at the correct value, so you spend the resources required to get it. Resources you wouldn't have had to spend earlier. Maybe from a player standpoint it doesn't make much sense, but ~to me~ from an overall game standpoint it does. Because it would level the difference in value, across the board, between currently undervalued items and correctly valued items, without making the correctly valued items any less valuable or rare. The thing with "good caster BUR's" is that, in my opinion, the fix is a little too simplistic. Everything can be identical to genie, but the spell schools, which would have the same bonus feats as genie, just all the other spell schools. Like Ril and HC. A sub for each line. Side note: The interesting thing about builds is that it seems like good caster builds are really simple while good tank builds are relatively complex, yet the reverse is true when it comes to actually playing the classes.
