no shield feat: i had to sacrifice it in order to get my other feats. i use the signet of lolth to equip my shield. is it a huge pain in the ass? absolutely.
it's not a bad idea to keep a torch on quickslot for those times when you crash mid-fight or get disarmed. or, you can be ultra fast and put ring back on and then shield, etc

Do you find 14 Con to be enough? That's directed at anyone playing a dex character in the Hells, really, but specifically assassins, with their conceal. Playing a druid, with crap AC, my 16 is just sufficient, but a. I'm not on the front-lines; and b. like I said, my AC is horrid. So I'm wondering with good AC, if 14 Con is sufficient. It looks like your final dex is 52 or so? Is that right? Is the DC resulting from that and 30 Assassin enough to dev crit much in the Hells? Do you notice a big difference as you delve deeper, to layers 7+?

luckily for me, half kyton grants a hefty 4 to con. i'd say you would want to sacrifice wisdom to get at least 16 to constitution. your ac will still be good enough to keep you mostly out of harms way, and even with 18 con and just under 1k hp, i can't take too many hits. the con is mostly for kb
my ab and dc are great for the hells, i was doing very well the last time i went to malboge, devving quite a few enemies down there. keeping yourself in well build parties with bards and pms debuffing helps a lot as well, though with a good bard, the pm's enervation is gravy

i agree with chainlink. i believe the best two options are as follows for incorporating fighter levels: 1) fighter/rogue. use a shield, use your extra feats to cover saves and skills for locks/search 2) fighter/monk. give up locks, and dual wield, using fighter feats to cover saves. You can do option 1 and still take dual-wield feats. That's basically what I did with Frin. I took option 1 with Dual-Wield. But Dual-Wield is nothing more than trading three feats for two extra attacks, and I expect I'll be using a shield in the Hells, anyway. The reason I spent those feats on Dual-Wield was because Dual-Wield generally seemed more useful to my party than Spring Attack. Apparently, only time will tell me whether or not that turns out to be a mistake. Don't get me wrong. I would love to have had the benefit of using a secret subrace. But I don't have one, so I tried to do the best I could with what was available. If I'm reading Dom's character right, he chose similar Feats and Skills in his build, and probably for the same reasons I chose them. -Khalaq

Dual wield is more useful than Spring Attack, except of course that you need Spring Attack to qualify for Weapon Master ... (So if you still want WM, then it is a mistake) Grog
