Bhao has written another amazing piece of assistive software for HG, named ARF2. The current revision is r314u, and it can be gotten here: arf2.zipARF2 is in beta release. Although basic functionality works and the software should safe to run, there are rough edges still to work out. no there are not, and it's quite stable, thank you (bhao) ARF2 is a program to simplify the task of logging in to HG. It takes care of performing all necessary updates (including NWN 1.69, CEP, and HGE) and shows you the status of all servers and any recent run messages. To use it, simply extract it into your Neverwinter Nights folder (ARF2 can also be placed in a sub-folder of your Neverwinter Nights folder) and then run the ARF2 executable. It will take care of the rest. ARF2 is capable of cleaning up issues with your Neverwinter Nights installation (such as bad CEP updates or lingering temporary files). If you hold down right-click over a server in the top pane server list, it will show you a list of players on that server. To log in to a server, select it in the top pane and press the Connect button. See this link for even more information and screen shots: wiki.hgweb.org/wiki/Installation_Guide#Updating_with_ARF2ARF2 only runs on Windows, and is an AutoHotKey program. The source is included for your perusal. Some old versions sometimes had trouble finding updates of itself. Please check the version number in the window title. Unless it ends in "r314u" you need the following: - find the folder where you put arf2 when you first installed it and delete the file "arf2-server.ini" (don't delete anything else) - restart arf2 to make it download a new server ini file

The top frame with the servers needs to be re-sizable so I don't have to scroll at all. Looks good so far.

Running Win 7 (32 bit) I got an error about deleting a temp file part way through the update process. I will post the exact error when I get home but when the file was removed the update process continued properly. Looks like either a permissioning or file locking problem (I did try running the process with Admin priviledges so its likely file locking).

it seems the updating doesnt work, it does a countdown from 59 to 0, then it just stays at "update in 0 secs..."
a feature id also like to see added is to intergrate the quest list into it somehow also.

Works great.
Minor suggestions: - The "Help button" could need some improvement. Maybe add the link to this thread to it? - On Exit: Please, no "you really want to exit" questions, that is so windows like - I ALWAYS want to quit/exit if that is asked...

a feature id also like to see added is to intergrate the quest list into it somehow also. Unfortunately the quest list is only available via HTML, not XML. That would make it a lot harder to parse. I don't have any immediate plans to work on it.

One one of my pc's this worked great. On the other two (one is vista one is xp) I get:
NWN:HotU Critical Rebuild PAtch 1.69 no tinstalled. Required components missing Starting Update Dialogue
Then I download a 309meg file from bioware NWNEnglish1.69HotUUpdate.exe
After that is done and I select update I get a message
Neverwinter Nights is not found. Please reinstall the game from the original CD-ROM and try again.
Then I get
Bioware Patch returned 2 Wow, sucky nsis actually returns error codes - who would have thought Anyway, the patch encountered an error Pplease try again A log file named 'arf2.log' has been created arf2 will now exit
I am downloading HG ARF2 to nwn/arf directory and running it from there both on the working pc and the failed one. I am quite sure that I have HOTU on both the pc's that are failing.

Sounds like your other PC might not have the registry entries (a VERY common problem, actually - especially if you copied NWN from another machine).
Please look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\BioWare\NWN\Neverwinter in your registry; you should have either a 'Path' or 'Location' entry there pointing to your NWN installation.
