ARF2 - HG Loader/Status App for Windows

Yeah that's it. I have no Bioware directory in the software dir. Any good way to fix that? I'm not 100% adept at regedit.

Note the three lines you need to edit to match your installation location. You need to use DOUBLE backslashes in those (e.g. the 'C:\\Games\\NWN' you see above). Delete the *** and everything after that in those lines when you edit them.

Rename the file to have a .reg extension (e.g. bioware.reg) then right click it and Merge it to your registry.

I'll see if ARF2 can be enhanced to fix the registry.

i had the same problem the other day, i talked to Acaos about it... what i done was had someone send me their reg file to me, then i changed the location of it, was a simple fix

today, ARF2 stops after some seconds and says something like "config file can not be loaded".

...15 minutes later it works all well.

While it works great on my PC, I encountered following problem when I tried to run it on my laptop:

First it checks for updates which still works but when it begins updating I get the following error in the log:

I did check my nwn directory for the missing file and I can find it there: C:\Games\NeverwinterNights\NWN\erf\cep2_updater.erf
Not with the .out ending though.

Note (not sure if it's related): I tried updating with the HGE_updater before and whenever I opened the HGE_Update_Standard or GUI version I got the window which should show for a split second before it closed again without doing anything further.

What OS are you running on your laptop? Are you running ARF2 as administrator?

That's really strange. Could you try renaming the 'erf' folder under your NWN folder (to olderf or something) and make a new, empty erf folder, then try running the ARF2 updater again?

Tried that and still got the same error. I also run it with another admin account with the same results.

Could you look at the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BioWare\NWN\Neverwinter key in your registry (using regedit) and look at the 'Location' or 'Path' setting, to see if it matches where your NWN installation is located?

ARF2 doesn't do anything with your logfiles at this time - it doesn't have the advanced features of something like SNARL. It's pretty much intended to be a simple program to get you on to HG.
